Everybody Want to Be That Girl. But Who Is She, Really?
Apparently, to qualify as That Girl, you need to wake up at 5 a.m., drink matcha, do Pilates, journal, meditate, have glowing skin, and somehow you have your entire life together before 9.
Oh. Okay. So we're unemployed?
Because WHO has the time?!
Don't get me wrong, I love a good self-care routine. But somewhere between the green juices and matching workout sets, being That Girl became a whole damn job.
And the qualifications?
RIDICULOUS.
Perfect body. Perfect apartment. Perfect wardrobe. A refrigerator organized by color. Girl, even the strawberries gotta have their shit together?! But here's the thing. We've gotten so caught up in looking like we have our lives together that we've forgotten what actually having them together means. Because a $12 matcha doesn't equal happiness, Pilates doesn't guarantee peace, and waking up before the sun doesn't automatcially make you better than the girl who hits snooze four times.
Maybe That Girl loves sleeping in. Maybe she has big dreams but needs a nap. Maybe she's still figuring life out one questionable decision at a time.
And that's perfectly fine.
Being That Girl isn't about keeping up with somebody else's lifestyle. It's about creating one you actually enjpy living.
So wear the outfit. Chase the dream. Sleep in when you need to. And stop auditioning for a life that doesn't even belong to you. Because at the end of the day... That Girl? She's whoever the hell you decide to be.
Stay girlish. ♡
